Diagnosis & Treatment Scope:

Thoracic tumors such as lung cancer, esophageal cancer, thymic cancer, pleural mesothelioma, and mediastinal cancer.

Diagnosis & Treatment Features:

(1) The division integrates medical oncology with radiotherapy and emphasizes individualized diagnosis and treatment based on standard treatment. For medical oncology, the division offers molecular marker-guided precision therapy (chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, etc.), three-ladder acesodyne medication, palliative care for advanced tumors, hospice care, etc. For radiotherapy, the division provides image-guided precision radiotherapy: 4D-CT with respiratory motion tracking or control, respiratory gating, intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), bioimaging-guided adaptive radiotherapy (ART), etc. 

(2) The division sets up a multidisciplinary team (MDT). The team is comprised of experts from the Division of Thoracic Oncology, Division of Thoracic Surgery, Division of Respiratory Medicine, Department of Medical Imaging, Division of Interventional Radiology and Division of Anatomical Pathology; the experts from the Division of Neurosurgery, Department of Orthopedics, Division of Cardiology, Division of Nephrology and other related departments may be invited according to the actual condition of patients. The division provides patients with authoritative, convenient, rational and comprehensive anti-tumor treatment, as well as the management of their concomitant diseases. 

(3) The division sets up a diagnosis & treatment team. The team members include Prof. Spring Kong from the United States, Prof. H.F. LEE from Hong Kong, and senior (Li YANG)/intermediate (Ying Han, Yongsheng Zhang, Jinliang Zhang)/primary oncologists from the Chinese mainland. After systematic training in medical oncology and radiotherapy, all of them are able to make a worldwide advanced diagnosis and treatment plan for each patient.
