The Reproductive Medicine Department began its initial preparations in early 2013 and was officially established in October 2015. In October 2016, it successfully passed the on-site evaluation for the formal operation of human assisted reproductive technology and has since passed the on-site review and validation for human assisted reproductive technology for several consecutive years. It has met the technical specifications required by the National Health Commission in all aspects and is permitted to officially operate human assisted reproductive technology services, including: intrauterine insemination with husband's sperm (IUI), conventional in vitro fertilization - embryo transfer (commonly known as "test-tube baby", IVF), and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (commonly known as "second-generation test-tube baby", ICSI).
The Reproductive Medicine Center has sub-specialties such as female infertility and assisted reproductive technology, gynecological endocrinology and infertility, reproductive minimally invasive surgery, andrology, andrological endocrinology, and reproductive andrological minimally invasive surgery. The center strictly adheres to international diagnostic and treatment standards to provide services. Over the years of formal operation, the pregnancy rate of patients receiving "test-tube baby" treatment is comparable to the high success rate of the Assisted Reproductive Technology Center at the University of Hong Kong's Queen Mary Hospital.
The Reproductive Medicine Department has always adhered to the service philosophy of evidence-based diagnosis and treatment and advocating for natural conception of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Hong Kong. With years of experience in single embryo transfer and proficient medication techniques, while ensuring high pregnancy efficiency, it has taken the lead among hundreds of reproductive medicine centers across the country in achieving ultra-low multiple pregnancy rates and ultra-low rates of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. It has benefited millions of families in Shenzhen and surrounding areas. While fulfilling the dreams of infertile patients to have children, it also provides the initial guarantee for maternal and infant safety and family happiness.
