Diagnosis & Treatment Features:

The division mainly receives patients with hepatopancreatobiliary and gastrointestinal cancers, and specializes in liver cancer, bile duct cancer, pancreatic cancer, neuroendocrine cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, gastrointestinal stromal cancer, and neuroendocrine cancer. With conformal intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), three-phase scanning, 4-DCT, respiratory gating, image-guided radiotherapy (IMRT) and SBRT techniques, the division is able to provide precision radiotherapy. With the support of the Division of Hepatobiliary Surgery and the Division of Interventional Radiology, the division can perform ERCP-guided stent placement, PTBD, radiofrequency ablation, TACE and other operations. Besides, it provides targeted (biological) therapy, immunotherapy, palliative care, and hospice care.

Advisors:

The advisors include Prof. NG Wai Tong and Prof. Chi Leung CHIANG, all from HKU. Prof. NG Wai Tong, MD of the University of Hong Kong, Fellow of the Royal College of Radiological Sciences, Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Radiology, and Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Radiology). He is currently the deputy director of the Oncology Center of the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital, the director of the Department of Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Gastrointestinal Oncology, the leader of the Radiation Therapy Center, a professor of clinical oncology at the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, an honorary consultant doctor of Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital, and an honorary consultant doctor of Queen Mary Hospital. Prof. Chi Leung CHIANG, Chief Physician, is an assistant professor in the Clinical Oncology Center (ONC) of HKU Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine. He specializes in comprehensive diagnosis & treatment and stereotactic body radiation therapy for hepatopancreatobiliary cancer and rectal cancer.
