Latest surgical technologies are applied to our clinical service, which is comprehensive and includes surgery and endoscopy for various hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. We train not only local surgeons but also surgeons from other places who come here to refine their skills or acquire new skills. We have pioneered new surgical techniques, extended patient coverage, and reduced morbidity and mortality considerably. Highlights of our significant achievements are shown below:Zero death within 30 days after liver resection has been maintained for six consecutive years, and the 5-year survival rate and other indicators have reached the international advanced level. The Division has successfully performed and reported the world's first simultaneous pancreaticoduodenectomy + two-step liver resection combined with portal vein ligation (2014), and south China's first left triple liver resection combined with right hepatic vein reconstruction under portal vein hypothermic perfusion (2018), etc. The work has been reported in authoritative journals at home and abroad.
