Introduction of Prostate Group

In 2017, the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital led the establishment of  “Prostate Cancer Multidisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Collaboration Group”  to provide a full range of clinical services, including early screening, accurate diagnosis, minimally invasive therapy and scientific follow-up as so on. We had developed a normalized, standardized, and internationalized management process to provide a guarantee for the citizens about the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, as well as integrated and humanized medical service. We are one of the few hospital in Shenzhen to  provide magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound fusion transperineal prostate biopsy, high-level robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, 3D laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and conventional laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. We collaborate with Sun Yan-Sen university cancer center and Chinese academy of medical science-Shenzhen center to build a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area-multicenter prostate cancer MDT academic exchange platform.

Introduction of Andrology group 

The andrology group, including andrology team and assisted reproductive medical team, specializes in various andrological diseases such as prostatic disease, male genital tumors, male deformity, inflammation, sexual dysfunction, ejaculatory disorder, infertility and other male diseases.Techniques, including microscopic surgery, minimally invasive technique and etc , are used to treat varicocele, oligoasthenoteratozoospermia, hematospermia, genital tumor, curved penis, hypogonadism, infertility，sexual dysfunction and other male diseases.The urology department is the skills training center of electrophysiological technique of the national health commission, the initiator of the chunhui medical road which is the men's special disease academic forum of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the supporting unit of the Shenzhen branch of the international society of andorology.Lead by Dr.Luzhenquan,the department runs the first men's health management center in Shenzhen which provides health management services covering whole male life.

Introduction to the urinary calculi team

The urinary calculi team is the only professional team dedicated to the treatment of urinary calculi among the major hospitals in Shenzhen. There are three core members, Xiong Lin, Xu Xiang, and Wei Genggeng, who are good at handling various complicated urinary calculi. Dr. Xiong Lin, group leader and the deputy consultant doctor, has been deeply involved in the field of urinary stone for more than 20 years. He has 15 national patents, published more than 40 articles, hosted international and domestic conferences and forums for many times, and carried out many live surgical performances. He took the lead in proposing the concept of large abdominal convex array extraplane probe puncture to treat complex kidney stones, and carried out large-scale clinical applications in more than 1,000 cases, with a success rate of over 99%. After every surgery perform,the the urinary calculi team team will give the patients a detailed long-term report, so that the patients can benefit from one operation for a lifetime.

Introduction to the Urological Cancers Team

Our team aim to offer standardized, internationalized, and humanized treatments to our patients. What we do is strictly evidence-based and follows international guidelines and bring the most benefits to our patients in a multi-disciplinary manner and with minimal harm. We have established an extensive multi-disciplinary academic platform for urological cancers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with multiple centers, including the Sun Yat-sen university cancer center and the Chinese academy of medical sciences. This allows us to consult professionals from different specialties so that we can devise the best treatment strategy for our patients with urological cancers. We provide minimally invasive treatments with utmost accuracy and are proud to announce our experience in both robotic and laparoscopic urologic procedures in tackling urologic cancers.

Urology department is affiliated to department of surgery and is one of the high-quality urology centers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.Led by consultant doctor Dr.Lu Zhenquan and Hong Kong University professor Dr. Luo Guangyan,the division has more than 20 doctors, including international consultant doctors and specialist doctors at all levels divide into 6 experienced clinical specialized disease group, including urological cancers team, andrology team,prostate team, adrenal disease team, urinary calculi team,urinary tract reconstruction group.Department has Da Vinci robot minimally invasive surgical system, MRI / ultrasonic fusion prostate biopsy system, ultrasonic navigation percutaneous renal puncture system and aboundens international advanced medical equipments, which greatly improve the accuracy and safety of patient diagnosis and treatment.We complished more than 2000 minimally invasive surgerys,providing high quality and humanized medical services for domestic and international patients.

According to new personnel policy,we first putting forward the new mode of team construction :platform + individual, which solved personal value realization and the department development direction, and changes from "heteronomy" to "self-discipline".Shenzhen-Hong Kong culture is highly integrated, team concept is highly consistent and tacit cooperation in here, thus form a strong and stable "joint force"and drive the department forward continuously.

We adhere to the concept of team diagnosis and treatment ,cross-department discussion and multidisciplinary discussion.We established the"MDT multi-center consultation platform of prostate cancer in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", adhere to the evidence-based medical and medical safety and quality as lifelines for medical services, routine execution grade III-A general hospital medical quality management standards.Our team conduct statistics and analysis of medical safety and quality data every month, and find out the existing deficiencies for target rectification and continuous improvement to ensure patients get the most professional and quality medical service.

Department is a national drug and device clinical trial base. Currently, it has led and completed one clinical device research, led and participated in 3 multi-center drug clinical studies.

Department has undertaken one project of national health development research center, participated in 1 national natural research project, and a number of provincial and hospital research funds.Our department adheres to translational medicine as the target of clinical research, and currently has 22 patents and 2 transformation.

In 2018, We became first batch of national resident standardized training bases in our hospital, and also became the joint training base for master students in Jinan University and Shenzhen University.
