Division of Nuclear Medicine
Under the Department of Medical Imaging, the Division of Nuclear Medicine was established in 2015 by Prof. David W.C. Yeung, the pioneer in the Hong Kong Nuclear Medicine profession, a world-renowned nuclear medicine expert.
The advanced Gamma Counter and SPECT CT equipment provide various radionuclide studies on cardiovascular, brain, renal function, skeletal disease, endocrine and oncology. Quantitative and qualitative diagnostic information can be precisely obtained in evaluating organ function, nature and location of lesion, and diseases prognosis. In accordance with national and international guidelines: SNMMI, EANM, CSNM , we provide excellence in the standard of nuclear medicine services, quality patient care, especially with substantial experience in cardiovascular diseases diagnosis, tumor evaluation and therapy response. In addition with a state-of-the art PET CT scanner, more comprehensive and advanced molecular imaging is delivered.
Radionuclide therapies embrace thyrotoxicosis, thyroid cancer, bone metastasis. As the incidence of thyroid cancer in China is increasing, radioactive-iodine ablation therapy service is in hot-demand. Our well facilitated radiation protection isolation wards provide ablation service to Shenzhen citizens with quality and radiation safety. The comprehensive DEXA studies, together with body composition analysis can assess bone mineral density, evaluate the risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases.
