Prof. Yiqun DING serves as deputy director of the Cardiovascular Medicine Center and director of the Division of Pediatric Heart Diseases. Graduated from Peking University Medical Department, Prof. Yiqun DING is a member of American Association of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgeons (AATS) and ranked as national advanced worker as well. In 2015, Prof. DING was introduced from Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital to Shenzhen as a 1st class clinical healthcare practitioner, leading in the field of surgical treatment of congenital heart disease.

Prof. DING has been practicing surgical treatment of congenital heart disease for nearly 30 years, whose medical team could handle more than 500 cases of cardiac operations every year. More than 95% of the difficult operations for premature infants, newborns and small infants in Shenzhen and surrounding areas are completed by our team, among which the minimum weight of the children is only 392 grams. The success rate of total anomalous pulmonary vein connection (TAPVC) has reached the international leading level, and its treatment experience has been reported at the 95th, 96th, 97th, 98th, 99th Annual conference of AATS. In the treatment of transposition of great arteries (TGA), Ross operation, Ross-Konno operation, Nikaidoh operation and congenital tracheal stenosis, we also lead domestically ahead. We have finished a few cases of the most complex and difficult operations such as Norwood Stage I and Yamagishi surgery, of which only a few medical centers in China are capable.

The Division of Pediatric Heart Diseases is composed of Congenital Heart Surgery and Pediatric Cardiology Department. Our disease spectrum is as follows:

Surgical treatment of all types of congenital heart disease. This is the only heart center in Shenzhen that can independently cover all ages and diseases of congenital heart disease.

Surgical treatment of congenital tracheal stenosis.

Perioperative management of congenital heart disease in children.

Cardiac emergency treatment, especially good at the use and management of ECMO.

Diagnosis and treatment of various types of arrhythmia in children, including but not limited to paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, premature ventricular beat, ventricular tachycardia, atrioventricular block, etc., combined with the Division of Cardiac Arrhythmia for radiofrequency ablation and pacemaker installation surgery.

Diagnosis and treatment of Kawasaki disease.

The pediatric Cardiology Clinic is located in the pediatric Clinic on the first floor of the Outpatient Department of HKU-SZH. At the same time, our consultants and associate consultants also provide outpatient services to international medical Center patients on weekdays.
