C-ICU, established in October 2021, is a cross-disciplinary specialty integrating intensive care medicine, cardiology and cardiac surgery. It is a platform for in-depth cooperation among multiple disciplinary teams. C-ICU can provide comprehensive critical care for perioperative and peri-interventional cardiac patients, and those suffering from coronary heart disease, heart failure, severe arrhythmias, etc. C-ICU team is chaired by Prof. Peijun LI, an expert who has been focused on clinical practice in a well-known tertiary hospital for more than 30 years. Prof. LI is experienced in the management of cardiac critical illness with multi-organ failure comorbidities, especially in the prevention and treatment of complications of cardiac operation. All team members, well trained in intensive care medicine, cardiology and cardiac surgery, can conduct all-round critical care monitoring and organ support, particularly in hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, IABP and ECMO.
