The year 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the Motherland, and the 10th anniversary of HKUSZH’s establishment. To better present the image of “China’s Most Beautiful Hospital” and boost exchange with the general public and patients, the Hospital is organizing a 10th Anniversary Painting and Photo Contest.

Eligible Contestants:

1. Talents with artistic skills, art school students and teachers

2. Hospital staff, the public, patients

Categories:

Painting Category

Theme 1: Architectural Paintings.

The entry needs to illustrate HKUSZH’s buildings, presenting its image as “China’s Most Beautiful Hospital”.

Theme 2: Flower Paintings.

The entry needs to demonstrate bougainvillea flowers and bauhinia flowers, floral emblems of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The flowers can be portrayed in one painting, or can be painted separately. The aim is to present the win-win collaboration of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Theme 3: Hospital Paintings.

The entry needs to display the desirable environment of the Hospital or ideas underpinning healthcare reforms and services.

Photo Category

Theme 1: Green Hospital.

The entry needs to present clinics, multi-cultural service space, green and environmental-friendly layout of the Hospital, showing the people-centered healthcare culture.

Theme 2: The Most Beautiful Moment.

The entry needs to capture moments that demonstrate medical staff caring for patients and providing quality medical aids. The aim is to convey the professionalism underlined by expertise and virtues.

Submission Deadline:

March 10, 2022

Note: The organizer reserves the final decision to adjust submission deadline accordingly.

Submission Requirements:

1. The entry should uphold the Hospital’s image and mark the significance of HKUSZH 10th Anniversary.

2. The entry should demonstrate the architectural features of the Hospital and the healthcare culture of Shenzhen-Hong Kong integration.

3. The submitted paintings can be JPG or PNG in format. A file size is limited between 1M and 5M. When your entry is submitted, please be sure to attach a brief description to illustrate ideas underpinning the design. Once your entry is selected, you are required to provide its vector-based source file and co-own the intellectual property right with HKUSZH.

4. The submitted photos should have clear themes and positive contents. The digital file should be JPG in format with resolution over 500m. The photo can undergo adjustment if necessary (such as contrast, brightness, saturation and etc.). Composite photos or alterations to the original images are not acceptable.

5. Each entry should come with a description (100-500 words) to further explain the ideas or stories behind.

6. If the entry is not entered by its owner, a notarized authorization document should be submitted. The document should include but not limited to authorization of submission, agreement on HKUSZH as a joint intellectual property right owner and etc.

1.First Prize Award (1 winner): RMB 5,000, an award certificate and a souvenir

2.Second Prize Award (2 winners): RMB 3,000, an award certificate and a souvenir

3.Third Prize Award (3 winners): RMB 1,000, an award certificate and a souvenir

4.Runners-up (10 winners): an award certificate and a souvenir

Photo Category

1.First Prize Award (3 winners): RMB 1,000, an award certificate and a souvenir

2.Second Prize Award (5 winners): RMB 800, an award certificate and a souvenir

3.Third Prize Award (10 winners): RMB 500, an award certificate and a souvenir

Note: All prize money is taxable.

The winning entries of HKUSZH 3rd CARE Painting Contest are produced as postcards.

Children that enter the contest express love and care and document growth in their works.

Assessment:

The judging panel, comprising those from the Hospital’s departments and staff union, is responsible for the assessment. Based on its theme, creativity and expressiveness, each entry is reviewed and evaluated. The public will be invited to vote for the winning entries selected by the judging panel .

How to Submit Your Entries?

1. Send your entries via email to pra@hku-szh.org by March 10, 2022.

2. Your email should be titled “HKUSZH 10th Anniversary Painting and Photo Contest - Painting (or Photo)” and include the entry description, your name and contact number.

3. You can only submit your entries once, and please do not re-submit your works.
